With an MA in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art, Tanya has honed her skills over the past 15 years, developing dynamic throwing, cutting, and assembling techniques to create large cylindrical shapes. Her vessels, impactful both individually and as a group, create expressive, vivid landscapes and fluid, architectural forms.

This intensive two-day workshop is designed for participants with some experience in wheel throwing who wish to advance their techniques, particularly in working with porcelain.

Participants will engage in hands-on sessions focusing on throwing larger forms, working with 2kg to 3kg of clay to construct tall structures. Tanya will demonstrate methods of throwing in sections, as well as making slips and assembling the thrown pieces together.

This masterclass offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from Tanya Gomez, whose work is recognised by the Arts Council and Craft Council of England. Her teaching approach is practice-led, developed from traditional methods and disciplines, providing participants with both foundational skills and innovative techniques.

Whether you’re looking to refine your porcelain throwing skills or seeking inspiration from a leading ceramic artist, this workshop promises to be an enriching experience.
