Your Course
Working from her garden studio in East Sussex, Sarah is known for her unique slab-built earthenware, enhanced by sgraffito, paper resist, and textured impressions.
This two-day experience begins with a fascinating exploration of the history and symbolism of Green Men, inspiring you to design a nature face reflecting your personal style. A stroll through The Waldron’s lush gardens and grounds will provide the chance to gather natural textures and shapes, which can be pressed into the clay to create intricate patterns. With Sarah’s expert guidance, you’ll experiment with slips, sgraffito, and paper resist techniques, honing your decorating skills.
The creative journey continues as you sketch, design, and assemble your nature face using slab-building techniques. Whether you choose a minimalist approach or a more intricate design, Sarah will help you bring your vision to life. By the end of the two days, you’ll have beautifully decorated and highly personal pieces, ready to be fired and cherished as a lasting testament to your creativity.
This masterclass is perfect for anyone looking to deepen their practice, explore new techniques, or find inspiration in the magic of myth and nature.
