In this immersive two-day workshop participants will be introduced to hand-building techniques, with a primary focus on slab construction. The course also explores vibrant surface decoration methods using stains and slips, enabling students to craft distinctive and colourful ceramic pieces.
This hands-on course is ideal for potters of all levels who wish to enhance their skills and artistic expression.

Your Course
This two-day masterclass offers hands-on practice and demonstrations in a variety of hand building techniques. You’ll use slabs and coils to build forms that you’ll then be given the opportunity to decorate with vibrant slips and oxides to explore your full creativity.
During your course you’ll learn a variety of techniques techniques including:
- Learn the foundations of slab building, including how to roll, cut, and assemble clay slabs into various forms.
- Develop techniques for shaping and manipulating slabs to create unique pottery pieces.
- Experiment with decorative methods using underglazes, slips, and stains to enhance your creations with vivid, expressive finishes.
- Gain an understanding of drying, bisque firing, and glazing to complete your work.
