Discover the best of both worlds with our full-day pottery experience at The Waldron, blending the precision of wheel throwing with the creativity of hand-building. Designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, this immersive workshop is set in our spacious studio nestled in beautiful surroundings. With a maximum of six participants, you’ll enjoy plenty of personal guidance and space to explore both techniques.

Your Day

The morning begins with a warm welcome, tea, and coffee, followed by an introduction to hand-building. You’ll learn techniques like slab and coil building to create unique pieces such as a mug or bowl.

A delicious home-cooked lunch offers time to relax and enjoy the inspiring gallery space before the afternoon session focuses on wheel throwing. Our expert instructor will demonstrate techniques such as wedging, centering, and lifting clay on the wheel. Then, it’s your turn to get hands-on, crafting your own bowls or cylinders with step-by-step guidance.

Afternoon refreshments punctuates the day, giving you a chance to recharge before refining your creations. By the end of the experience, you’ll select one or two pieces from both techniques to be glazed and fired in our studio. These will be ready for collection or delivery (postage fees apply).

With all tools, materials, refreshments, and expert instruction included, this full-day session is a wonderful way to experience the versatility of ceramics in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.
